The first T-Tune I posted on this blog was from my favorite group, Garbage. Cherry Lips is from the Beautiful Garbage album, as is Androgyny, which is featured in this post.

In looking at Songmeanings.net, the general consensus was expressed in this comment:

To me, Shirley is saying we should fall in love with the person, and not worry so much about gender/other physical attributes, since "nobody wants to feel alone, and everybody wants to love someone." She is telling us to be more openminded.

I like that interpretation. Shirley, who is an absolutely beautiful woman, appears rather androgynous in one picture while quite feminine in the other. Two very appropriate images of Shirley for this post.

Beautiful Garbage was the group's third album, released in 2001. Androgyny was a single from the album. While making #1 on the Greek singles charts, it only made it to #24 on the UK charts and never made the US charts. Nevertheless, I love the song but that goes for just about anything this group has done.



The group is still around and plans to record their 5th album this year (2010).
